![]() I can run repetoire scans on Players, tournaments or TWIC updates to fish for games to add, or just add individual games I come across, sometimes even my own. It now has all my opening variations in it, about 300 games! I manually prune out the ones I don't want.Īnd so my repertoire DB evolves. There will be lots of moves after what I've added. Note I'm keying off a black move now at this point as I'm interested in playing all 3. f4 game into 2 others, and created games contaning as their key positionsġ. However, as you add games, you find you want more variations. I then open the games, and if I want to, right click and add to Repertoire, and the game gets added, creating branches as they go. I then ran the Repertoire scan, and I could see a selection of games organised by the Key positions. I then created a DB with the Black games of Colin McNab in it, as he was a GM who's Pirc games I wanted to look at. Be2 with the Be2 position marked as the Key one Be3 with the Be3 position marked as the Key oneġ. f4 with the f4 position marked as the Key oneġ. I started with a simple Pirc DB, about one game for each chapter in Pirc Alert!ġ. But I persisted, and with a bit of playing around got out what I wanted. It's rather manual, doesn't handle transpositons well and sometimes seems you need to put in more effort for the info you get out. Note I'm on CB 9.0 so I don't know if it's been improved in later versions. He's how I use the Repertoire feature of ChessBase. ![]()
